No separate independent regulator is listed: the government or the utility itself sets tariffs and technical rules.
Who controls the grid
State-owned EVN and its transmission arm EVNNPT run the grid; the National Power System and Market Operator (NSMO) dispatches.
Participant in the ASEAN Power Grid initiative, which is gradually linking Southeast Asian grids for cross-border trade.
What does “Single buyer” mean?
Independent power producers build plants and sell their output under long-term contracts to one designated state buyer, usually the national utility, which runs the grid and sells to consumers.
NSMO was separated from EVN in 2024. This link documents the new organisation; EVN is not labelled as the current national system operator.
